My Therapy Style

As a seasoned psychotherapist with a rich, multicultural tapestry of experiences, I have made it my life's work to understand and nurture the human spirit. Born from a journey that has traversed multiple continents, cultures, and careers, my practice is more than a profession—it's a calling to heal and empower.

Before settling in the vibrant Bay Area in 2007, my life was a mosaic of global experiences, each piece contributing to my profound appreciation and understanding of the diverse tapestry of human behavior and relationships. This extensive background, combined with my academic grounding in Counseling Psychology (M.A., Marriage & Family), equips me with a unique perspective and an empathetic approach to therapy.

My passion lies in guiding individuals and couples through the complexities of anxiety, depression, past traumas, relationship dynamics, and personal growth. The essence of my practice is to offer a sanctuary—a place where authenticity is nurtured, and resilience is fortified.

As a writer of self-help literature, I extend my commitment to healing and growth beyond the therapy room, aiming to touch more lives and foster healthy, thriving relationships.

I believe in the transformative power of therapy, and my mission is to illuminate the path to self-discovery and empowerment for all who embark on this journey with me. Get to Know Me

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, my life is richly filled with family activities, creative pursuits, and physical exercise. I cherish being a mother and spending quality time with my two children and our dog. My artistic side thrives through acrylic painting, and daily meditation sets a peaceful tone for my day. I keep active with tennis and daily runs, while my love for reading spans from academic literature to fiction. Additionally, my interest in research and writing deeply engages me in topics both personal and professional.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

One daily practice that significantly supports my well-being is meditation. Each morning, I meditate, which helps center my thoughts, reduces stress, and sets a positive tone for the day ahead. This routine enhances my mental clarity and contributes to my overall emotional balance, making it a vital part of my daily self-care regimen.

What book have you read more than once?

I've read Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now" three times, and I anticipate returning to it many more. This book is a toolkit and a crucial reminder of living fully present and engaged. Each reading brings new insights and reinforces the importance of mindfulness in my daily life.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

As a trained suicide counselor, I greatly admire the dedication and compassion shown daily by the counselors and management at SACS. Their commitment to providing round-the-clock support to those in emotional crisis is truly impactful. SACS offers weekly support groups for suicide survivors and those with suicidal thoughts, alongside grief support for those bereaved by suicide. They've also broadened their services to collaborate with Emergency Departments, ensuring follow-up care for patients treated for self-harm.

How do you recharge?

To recharge, I engage deeply with my family, connect with nature through daily runs, and enjoy leisurely walks with my dog. Additionally, I set aside half an hour to an hour each day for quiet mindfulness and meditation sessions—after waking up and before bed—to help center myself after a busy day.

Do you have any pets?

I have a 3-year-old Golden Retriever named Charlotte, affectionately known as Charlie. She's wonderfully gentle with my young son but shows a playful side when she feels left out. Whenever anyone showers my son with affection, Charlie amusingly tries to redirect attention to herself with her toys and balls. Her delightful antics bring laughter and joy to our home, enhancing our family's happiness.
