I will work with you to restructure your unhelpful beliefs that cause distress, develop new and healthier coping skills and improve your communication skills, confidence and self-esteem.

My Therapy Style

I believe the fit between a patient and therapist plays an important role in healing and growth. My approach to therapy begins with respect and validation for your feelings and experiences. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment where dialogue can flow without fear of judgment. I specialize in treating people struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction and women's issues such as perinatal and postpartum depression. I will work with you to restructure your unhelpful beliefs that cause distress, develop new and healthier coping skills and improve your communication skills, confidence and self-esteem.

Since each person and their issues is unique, I use an eclectic mix of approaches. Working with clients in crisis and their families, I use a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.

I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives. The past few years have been challenging in ways that no one could have predicted. Changes in our world can cause anxiety, depression and a number of other issues to rise to the surface. Let's work together to face these issues and improve the quality of your life.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I grew up watching daytime talk shows and Oprah was my favorite. I realized my fascination with the people and therapists on these shows and went on to study psychology in college and then social work to become an advocate for often underserved and very deserving people.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I always make time to stop for coffee in the morning! I enjoy this ritual and make sure I do it even if I'm running late. It really impacts my overall day!

Favorite organization/non-profit?

ASPCA, because I am a huge animal-lover. I also contribute to some smaller foster/rescue agencies and volunteer when I can.

How do you recharge?

I love to escape into television and the world of Netflix and I can often be found listening to true-crime podcasts in my car or during breaks in my day.

Do you have any pets?

I have 3 cats right now. The most I have had is 4 cats at once. I love that they all have such different personalities. My favorite pet story is that I helped get a stray cat into a foster mom's home right before a winter storm hit. I kept in contact with the foster mom until she was adopted.
