Therapy Style

I like to create a sense of safety for clients and draw from a person-centered approach in sessions. This means that I will remain curious about your experience and facilitate discussion which will lead you to discover that you have always held the key to unlocking solutions. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Family Systems approach, and Solution Focused Therapy to guide treatment. Every therapist is different. I tend to be somewhat laid back, as I believe clients are the experts on their lives and I want you to know the hour is yours. We will work together as a team to collaborate on treatment goals, address challenges, and resolve issues.

I believe everyone has mental health. The severity and intensity it needs attention varies throughout the life span, just like most things. It takes courage to ask for help and I feel privileged to be in the position to provide you with support and guidance as you work towards feeling like the best version of yourself.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy being outdoors and going for family walks, hiking, yoga, writing, and traveling to new places. I also enjoy spending quality time with my husband, daughter, and dog.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your mental and emotional well-being?

I prioritize being aware of and meeting my core needs, which at times involves communicating my needs to my partner. I also prioritize the things I have learned sustain me and help me to feel expansive.

How do you recharge?

I recharge best in two ways: unplugged and spending quality time with loved ones so I can be fully present and in the experience; and by taking a drive (or a trip) solo, preferably with the windows down and music up.
