My Therapy Style

I understand that compassionate support through challenging times is a valuable part of life’s journey. I use an integrative approach with a range of therapeutic modalities to best meet your unique needs and to help you attain the change you want in your life.

As we work together, expect warm, empathetic respect while feeling empowered to develop effective skills, find your own best path, and achieve the changes and growth you hope for yourself. I offer additional expertise with concerns of aging, chronic health, new diagnosis, and caregiver needs. I provide a culturally inclusive and LGBTQ+-affirming practice.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I started in special ed and realized I was more interested and concerned with what was going on at home, the challenges of the families, and the social dynamics. I changed my major and never looked back. That was many years ago.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy being outdoors and engaged in water and mountain activities such as rowing, paddling, hiking, and skiing. Indoors, I love the textile arts of quilting and knitting.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I practice mindfulness meditation in small frames throughout the day. I have also learned to set personal boundaries.

What book have you read more than once?

Rainbow Fish has been read more than anything else in my home! First to my children and now to my grandchildren. I love the message and it promotes a value I hope to teach. In the adult world, my Kindle typically has at least 4 new books waiting so I don't often go back to reread. I have a fascination with biographical work as I enjoy learning about others' lives, struggles, and successes.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

I've always had a great respect for Doctors without Borders. More recently, I have supported World Central Kitchen, SAGE, Trevor Project, and ADL

How do you recharge?

Quiet time with my Partner. Gentle hikes with destination vistas. Rowing on the water (not machines) and knitting are meditative.

Do you have any pets?

My fur baby Shayna is a 9lb toy poodle!
