Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

It is hard to imagine myself doing something outside of being a therapist. From as far back as I can remember, friends and family have always come to me for support and solutions to their problems. It is essential to be a good listener. From a young age, I was sensitive and in tune with others' needs and feelings. My desire to help people overcome obstacles led me to become a mental health therapist. I enjoy using my empathy, compassion, and skills to support others during challenging times in their lives.

Helping people improve their emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being is meaningful to me personally and professionally. I am invested in keeping up-to-date with the best therapeutic tools, technics, and interventions to support the well-being of my clients. I value every person I collaborate with and connect with as a therapist. My hope is to have a positive impact on the lives I touch. Life can be challenging, difficult, and lonely. My promise to you as your therapist is to provide you with a safe space to be yourself and know that you will be accepted and celebrated for who you are as a human being.

What book have you read more than once?

One of my favorite books is The Velveteen Principles: A Guide to Becoming Real; Hidden Wisdom from a Children's Classic. It's a small book and a quick read. This book is geared toward adults yet is based on the childhood fairy tale The Velveteen Rabbit. The book is written by Toni Raiten-D'Antonio, a professor of psychology. It's motivational and inspirational and discusses what being "Real" really means.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

The Truth 365 gives as it gives a voice to childhood cancer fighters, survivors, angels, and their families.

How do you recharge?

I recharge by focusing on my emotional, physical, social, and spiritual well-being. I love to take daily walks outside, especially when the weather is nice outside. One of my favorite ways to recharge is by connecting with friends or family. Practicing mindfulness has a positive impact on my day. I find it valuable to keep a gratitude journal. When my days are super busy; it is important for me to take mini breaks throughout the day. By taking out for myself, I can be more present with others.
