I specialize in trauma, substance abuse, women's issues, significant mental illness, emotional dysregulation and relationship dysfunction. My main approach is person-centered treatment. Discussing treatment plans collaboratively is an important part of the therapeutic journey. I incorporate motivational interviewing in sessions to help feel "unstuck" from a current situation as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to change thinking patterns. I have an eclectic technique to apply different evidence-based practices to what the person needs during their treatment.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health professional to advocate for people who didn't have a voice, to teach them empowerment skills to utilize their voice, as well as provide solutions to help improve their situations.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

New Hour because they facilitate every means necessary to help women reintegrate back into society after incarceration. They also provide social justice change at the macro level.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, Maggie, a black lab. I love that at least three times a day she has to knock me down and kiss my face all over.
