Why did you become a mental health professional?

My motivation to become a mental health professional stems from my inherent compassion and genuine interest in helping and understanding others. Witnessing people facing life's challenges has instilled in me a deep desire to provide support and guidance. Despite not initially possessing the professional knowledge or education, my calling to assist others let me to pursue a career in this field.

What are your interests outside of work?

I find enjoyment in cooking, gathering with family and friends, hiking, traveling, and experimenting with spice making.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Going on walk or hike with my husband and our furry companion is an essential part of my routine.

What book have you read more than once?

The Mantram Handbook: A Practical Guide to Choosing Your Mantram and Calming Your Mind by Eknath Easwaran has been a profoundly impactful read for me. This book provided invaluable tools for steadying my mind and breaking free from areas of stagnation in my life. Easwaran's comprehensive approach includes mantras tailored to various aspects of life, providing practical and accessible guidance for my personal growth and inner peace.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

My community church is my favorite organization. It serves as a cornerstone of support, community, spiritual growth and profound friendships.

How do you recharge?

Spending time and connecting with loved ones, surrounded by those I care about, is the source of joy and fulfillment me.

Do you have any pets?

I have a beautiful long haired German Shepherd. She is the best greeter. When a guest arrives she does an excited "dance" to greet guests, only to nonchalantly retire to her spot after a brief burst of enthusiasm. It's as if she's saying, "Welcome! Let me show you my joyful side…okay, nap time now the fun's over."
