Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I have always enjoyed working with people and helping others. I identified an internal need to become a clinician due to the satisfaction I feel when helping others and contribute to positive changes and quality of life.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy music, traveling, visiting new places, and spend quality time with family, among other activities.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Every working day, as soon as I finish work, I practice "taking off the hat," meaning I mentally finish my role as a clinician and become Norberto, the human with other important and enjoyable roles in my life, as a husband, friend, son, brother etc. This has been working very well for the past 10 years!

How do you recharge?

Spending quality time with family and friends, listening to music, playing an instrument, watching my baseball and football games, and disconnecting mentally from work until it is time to return to work. I practice mindfulness to make this happen.
