We'll work together to break unhelpful patterns that stifle progress and reduce quality of life.

My Therapy Style

To provide information about how individuals' beliefs, feelings, and behavioral patterns may impact self-reflecting and relationships with others, I employ a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused therapy. Another important aspect of my work is to emphasize how trauma might impact people's perspectives on their future objectives.

I am also well aware of the need of adapting my therapy methods to each individual's distinct needs, which is why I employ a client-centered approach. We'll work together to break unhelpful patterns that stifle progress and reduce quality of life. I'll work with you on how to deal, regulate, and establish healthy ways to manage challenges and give your life more purpose if we work together.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

Seeing a significant amount of mental illness (depression, chronic illness-driven depression, PTSD, anxiety, relationship/divorce induced stress, LGBTQIA family coming out issues/internal and external conflict, amongst others), within my own family as I grew up, I became very interested in understanding the human condition and being a part of the solution and healing process.

What are your interests outside of work?

My interests outside of work include hiking, singing, Netflix or the cinema, working out at the gym, reading, and traveling once a year for vacation.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Hiking in the Santa Clarita trails every morning (first thing).

What book have you read more than once?

Change Your Thoughts - Change Your Life by Wayne Dyer. I have read it multiple times since buying it over a decade ago because it is very inspirational and encouraging to me and includes many tips supporting my work as a therapist utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

PFLAG fosters support for the LGBTQIA community, their parents, and family and friends and advocates for the rights and well-being of LGBTQIA kids in schools to foster a safe anti-bullying environment. Safety enhances their quality of life and reduces the risk of suicidal ideation which is high in this demographic.

How do you recharge?

On Monday mornings, I take a 5-mile hike on a beautiful quiet trail near where I live, then I come back and take a 25-minute hot relaxing bath with Epsom salts and lavender bubble bath while playing my ocean sounds on the Calm App.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have a small Yorkie puppy at present, and previously I had an older Yorkie (Batman), a shitzu mix (Vinni), and a tabby cat (Joseph) who gave me so much unconditional love for over a decade before they each crossed over. My favorite pet story is how we found Joseph, the tabby cat, or rather, how he chose me and my pet babies. He was a stray living outside the apartment complex and he would run away at the sight of kids or people but he trusted Vinni and batman so he would follow us as I walked them and sit right outside my apartment door where I had made him a food and water area. He, however, wouldn't come in so I took it slow, and about a month into this routine, he walked in and became family for over a decade!
