You are the most important part of your treatment. In sessions, I prioritize the development of a connection that feels comfortable and safe for you. I also will teach you to use practices that have been scientifically shown to be effective in helping you to feel better and go on toward a brighter future. Because each person is unique, together we will find a way to customize the various evidence-based treatment tools so that they work in a way that affirms who you are.

I am an artist at heart! I enjoy all styles of dancing but I have been seriously training in Samba. I enjoy yoga, fitness, food and painting.
I read Catch-22 more than once because I enjoyed the comedy. It was also a beautiful illustration of how people learn to function in unhealthy ways because they must adapt to an unhealthy system. However, upon learning what doesn’t work in the system we can liberate ourselves and become healthier in creative ways.
My favorite non-profit organization is Thrive Scholars. It helps academically gifted low-income African American students to excel at prestigious institutions of higher learning and in their careers. I was a Thrive Scholar and I am a committed alumni who participate in mentoring and fundraising efforts. Their program is evidence based and they are making a big difference in the lives of the scholars. They are also bringing diversity into the professional world and the board room.
I listen to music, spend time in nature and dance.
