I actually grew up wanting to be an architect, but because the architecture program at my school was impacted, I earned my degree in Urban and Regional Planning. When I finally did an internship my last year of school, I figured out that this field was not fulfilling enough for me and it truly wasn't my calling.
Luckily, I was very involved on campus and did a lot of volunteer work with youth. I loved this work! I was encouraging, supporting and inspiring the next generation of scholars and leaders, and this truly gave me purpose and meaning in life. A mentor in college helped me sift through my thoughts and ultimately talked to me about social work. I was intrigued, took two years off to find my purpose and after much prayer, searching and work experiences, I arrived at my path of becoming a social worker. I enjoy helping others and this calling has been a transformational experience not only for my clients, but myself as well.
In my free time, I enjoy doing anything near or in the ocean/water, playing golf, engaging in personal development, spending time with family, exploring new places around town and I recently took up disc golf!
Drink a gallon of water a day, spend time in silence, practice alternate nostril breathing, practice mindfulness and listen to inspiring music, podcast, and videos.
Prayer/meditating, a trip to the ocean and practicing self-love/compassion.
