Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I was drawn to become a mental health professional through my passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner strengths. I was introduced to the helping field through my volunteer work with children and position as a mental health advocate in hospitals. Through these roles, I found fulfillment in witnessing each individual’s growth and being a link in their path toward healing. These experiences also encouraged my interest in human behavior and emotions, which ultimately led me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I find joy in spending time with loved ones, cooking/baking, exercising, and enjoying the beach. I often find myself searching for new Pinterest recipes to share with my loved ones. I’ll try making anything! I also love staying active through pilates, hiking, and long walks. Exercise is important to me, as it keeps me grounded throughout the day. The beach is my “happy place”. Thus, you will likely catch me taking advantage of the sun and having a beach day when I am not in sessions.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Each day, I engage in self-care activities such as exercise and connecting with loved ones to support my well–being. I love attending Pilates classes and finding any excuse to work out by the beach. I also try to spend intentional time with my family and friends. Feeling connected to others and nurturing my body helps to replenish my energy and zest for life.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

My favorite non-profit organization is the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's. This is a cause near and dear to my heart, as I lost my grandmother to Alzheimer's and have witnessed so many others experience this heartbreak. I hope to honor my grandmother and the lives of others by continuing to support this organization in finding a cure.
