My Therapy Style

My approach in therapy is to offer a collaborative, empathetic, and supportive experience while working towards developing skills. I do not believe that one therapeutic style fits all. I am a person-centered and humanistic therapist. I am about who the client is now and who the client is striving to be.

I provide counseling to help you reach your treatment goals. Join me here to learn ways to care for yourself and move past the trauma that has been weighing on you. Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental professional due to the need in the field and the benefits I have received from mental health services myself. I believe people know themselves best and with a collaborative approach and guidance healing can happen with clients in the driver's seat of their own lives. I became a mental health professional to help empower others to heal from past traumas and have the life they desire.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am an avid book reader, plant lover, and gym addict. I love spending time with my plants and in my garden.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Currently, I practice journaling with music in the background and this allows me to recenter my thoughts, pause, and meditate. I attempt to write a minimum of 3 pages a day.

What book have you read more than once?

Atomic Habits, this amazing book motivates me and provides data for why the everyday little investments into ourselves amount to much more.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

SKIP, Inc. is a program focused on Saving Kids of Incarcerated Parents. With franchises around the country, this program works with youth and their caregivers to establish a supportive “circle” of positive relationships around every child.

They provide behavioral and academic empowerment programs for children who have one or both parents in prison. SKIP also offers a variety of community programming, printed and online resources, and volunteer training.

I value resources for children of the incarcerated as I have worked in two correctional settings as a social worker and have seen the ways Angel Tree or SKIP has provided support to innocent children facing the consequences of the choices they did not make. The organization also navigates conversations with nuance and care and promotes healing through community.

How do you recharge?

I enjoy hours of silence at local saunas as well as reading, cooking, and gardening.

Do you have any pets?

I am a proud cat mom of a calico cat named Ruth after Joan Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I currently have a custom-made shelf with holes cut into it that my cats climb lounge and live in filled with joy. Additionally, my cats enjoy advent chocolate calendars from Trader Joe's each holiday season.
