I believe change comes from gaining insight into your thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

My Therapy Style

I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor who has a passion for helping people. I have worked in the human service field for over 10 years with a multitude of populations and settings. I have experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive behaviors, life stress, and life transitions.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach to therapy. I believe change comes from gaining insight into your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. When it comes to therapy, I believe the relationship between the therapist and the client is crucial. I strive at creating a safe and open environment for you to express your thoughts and feelings.

My goal for therapy is to assist you with solving any problems or issues you may be experiencing and help to give you the tools, knowledge, and insight to make changes.

I believe that everyone has a story to be told and that there is no greater suffering than an untold story inside of you. I believe that emotions are healed when they are heard and validated and that is my goal in therapy. “Stop being afraid of what could go wrong, and start being excited about what could go right."

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I truly have a passion for helping people and it brings me great happiness to know I can be a part of bringing someone to be their best version of themselves.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my kids, reading, going for walks, and of course binge watching shows (mostly psychological thrillers/ crime).

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I always start each day as clean slate and a chance to make today better than yesterday. I also end my day with thinking of the things I am grateful for or what went well that day.

What book have you read more than once?

The Body Keeps the Score and I have referred back to this book and reread certain parts because there is a lot of information in this book and it has been a great tool at understanding trauma and the body.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

SPCA because I absolutely love all animals and that their mission is to protect and save animals from cruelty. I also wish that I could adopt all the animals because every animal deserves a loving home.

How do you recharge?

Firstly, sleep is SUPER important so I do my best to get adequate sleep. I also make time during the week that is just for me to do something I enjoy. I also like to have a time where I can sit in silence and really be able to process through my thoughts and feelings.

Do you have any pets?

I have 2 dogs currently. I have an English Bulldog named Lola who is very sassy and then I have an Italian Mastiff named Theo who is a big baby and big for no reason. I grew up with having dogs and cats, and my favorite pet story is about our dog Ozzy who we grew up with. He used to go to our neighbors houses to take stuff and one time he stole a Thanksgiving turkey that someone must have left out to thaw. Ozzy had no boundaries and he truly lived the best life for a dog and unfortunately passed away in 2016. He was one of a kind!
