I recognize that seeking therapy is a difficult decision, and I am proud of you for taking the first step! You have already accomplished a big task just by getting started! Sometimes we just need a neutral person to talk to, and I am honored to be that person for you.
I use a multi-dimensional approach to fit the needs of each client through the use of various modalities of treatment, including Crisis Intervention, Solution Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I utilize interventions that are specific to your needs and will allow you to process pain, decrease anxiety and depression, and replace unhealthy thoughts and behaviors with healthy ones.
I have over 10 years of experience working with various populations; teens, at-risk youth, adults, parents/co-parenting, and families. I am a HUGE New York Mets fan, my pets, spending time with my family and shopping.
I have read The Tools by Dr. Phil Stutz & Barry Michels. I love this book because it teaches us how to be the best version of ourselves, and gives us the tools to do so.
I recharge by taking time to myself in a quiet space. Sometimes this space is a massage, a bath or simply spending extra time in my bed. It is nice to have alone time where I don't have put any effort into talking to others once in awhile.
I have 2 Shih-Tzu pups that I adore! They are both rescues, but I like to think THEY rescued ME! My favorite thing about them is that one of them knows when I walk in the door with french fries. As soon as he smells them, he will sit at my feet and politely bark, as if he is asking for one. He will do this until I share with him!
