Therapy Style

I have been in the field for 10 years working with children, teens, adults and seniors dealing with anxiety, depression, OCD, life transitions, relationship/family conflict, divorce and domestic violence. I view each individual or family as unique and approach therapy in the same way, meeting them where they are at. Therapy can be uncomfortable and so I try to structure each session as a casual conversation to help facilitate a safe space where change and vulnerability are welcome.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

The brain has always fascinated me. I wanted to be able to better understand how experiences both negative and positive can influence decisions we make, and use that information to help others navigate their own lives.

What are your interests outside of work?

I like to bake, go to concerts and I'm also a licensed realtor!

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I make sure to exercise every morning for at least 30 minutes. This helps me get focused and feel good for the rest of the day.

What book have you read more than once?

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is the only book I have read more than once. I first read it when I was going into 9th grade and there is something nostalgic about it. It addresses poverty, social class and alcoholism, themes that aren't typically talked about in books.

How do you recharge?

I love watching movies, specifically ones that I've seen multiple times. The familiarity helps to ground me and often times feels I'm hanging out with an old friend!
