Sharing and understanding parts of ourselves or our internal struggles can be scary, vulnerable and transformative. As humans our lives shift frequently, and having support through some of those life adjustments can be invaluable to finding one's purpose or meaning. In the sacredness of the therapeutic relationship, I hope to offer a safe environment to explore your personal values, culture and discover how to be your most authentic self. I try to use skills grounded in research and evidence-based practices to help people cultivate the self-compassion, self-awareness and courage needed to do this work. My goal for each session is to help empower and build your confidence so that you can feel secure in your ability to find/create your own resources and healing. My style is shaped by who I am: thoughtful, supportive, and authentically direct thanks to my East Coast upbringing.

My path towards mental health profession stemmed from my heartfelt desire to connect with and support other humans in meaningful ways. Both from lived and professional experiences I saw the impact that trauma has on lives, and the impact of social injustices, that have propelled me to this profession. The honor of being entrusted to facilitate authenticity and highlighting strengths when someone feels in the dark and then being able to see healing and transformation, is both humbling and moving.
I am a natural extrovert so my grounding is through connection. I spend significant time with family, friends enjoying a multitude of activities including concerts, plays, community engagement events (Pride!), and swimming or at the beach. I also enjoy intentional practices of mindfulness and meditation.
Listening to music! I have a playlist or podcast for my different moods that I usually use to transition from work to home (melancholy, introspective, excited, reminiscent, relaxing, intellectual stimulation and be caught dancing at a stop light).
I have read the book She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb and Homebody by Rupi Kaur more times then I can count. I just felt it at the core. Isn't that what a great book/poetry can do!
My favorite non profit is the Trevor Project. LGBTQ+ youth face so much stigma and discrimination leading so much harm in their mental health, housing, access to services and education, affirming care, etc. Having a safe, compassionate, affirming space to call in your darkest moments saves lives.
I recharge by spending time with my family and spending time with our dogs, most happily near water. And possibly on occasion I binge a series on Netflix (with great snacks) if I am doing a staycation.
We have two dogs. But my favorite pet story comes from my late dog Maya, a staffy. She was obsessed with watching animals on tv. After she would signal that she wanted to watch TV, she would frequently try and jump on the TV during high action animal scenes. She absolutely messed up a TV once. I miss her dearly. She had a great dog smile.
