I love to see each of my clients live their own unique values-driven lives.

My Therapy Style

My approach to therapy is client-centered and collaborative; I want to know how my clients define their challenges and their perspectives on what tools will best work for them in achieving their goals. I recognize my clients as the experts in their lives! I use reflection and reframing to explore alternative perspectives and mindfulness to enhance awareness of behavior and opportunities for acceptance. I am passionate about communication and love teaching those skills and empowering my clients to speak their truth! I love to see each of my clients live their own unique values-driven lives.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health professional after working with adults with intellectual disabilities in an administrative capacity and relocating to CA. I entered into an administrative position in a crisis residential facility and immediately knew I had found my life's work; I pursued education and credentials which would allow me to treat and support.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love reading, traveling, camping, gaming of all kinds, and spending time with my kids, husband, family, and friends. I enjoy watching documentaries, shows, movies, interior decorating, art, music, and being creative. I have Mexican heritage and have recently been refreshing and expanding my Spanish-speaking skills.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Rest is very important to me. I also enjoy skin care, getting my nails done, bath bombs/salts, and general self-attentive behavior. I like keeping my home clean/organized as it feels more relaxing and welcoming.

What book have you read more than once?

A New Earth - it's absolutely life changing!

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Tonier Cain International - I love Tonier and the work she's done to highlight the importance and significance of trauma informed care in all environments including the workplace, schools, and other places where survivors live and interact with their communities.

How do you recharge?

Sleep! Knocking things off on my to-do list, cozy up with a fire and some tea, play with my kids and dogs.

Do you have any pets?

We have THREE dogs — Disney, Strawberry, and Osita! They are still young and active which is fun. I love taking them to the dog park where Disney likes to chase a ball while Strawberry is content sniffing the other dogs. Osita is a baby and we look forward to taking her to the dog park soon! Our pets bring a lot of joy to our family and I can’t imagine our world without them. We recently said goodbye to our cat, Dr. Girlfriend and we feel his absence daily.
