My Therapy Style

I have over 15 years of experience providing individual, family and group therapy in community mental health and school settings treating wide range of clinical conditions from depression and anxiety to life stressors and relational problems. I enjoy conducting therapy sessions that convey warmth and facilitate open and honest communication with deep focus on the quality of the therapist-client relationship as the foundation for therapy while drawing interventions from many evidenced based models like DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Client Centered therapies.

Get to Know Me

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Reconnecting with my family at the end of each day, whether that is just having takeout together or going on an evening bike ride around our neighborhood, is what I need daily to refuel and re-center myself. My favorite thing to do with my family is to discover new bike trails around Southern California and take advantage of our beautiful weather and outdoor recreation.

What book have you read more than once?

The Gift of Therapy by Irvin D. Yalom is an important book to me because it has contributed significantly to my development as a psychotherapist. Irvin Yalom is my favorite psychotherapist and his approach to therapy most closely aligns with my approach. With the advent of Managed Care, I understand the need for short, effective evidence-based treatment but I still believe that the biggest therapeutic factor in therapy is the client-therapist relationship. Also some of the most important concepts like "focusing on the here and now" "focusing on the process and not the content", and "unconditional positive regard" are some of the most important techniques and concepts that have guided my practice with my clients.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Children’s Fund of San Bernardino is my favorite nonprofit mainly because it serves the most vulnerable population in the county that I live and work in. I’ve worked and lived in San Bernardino County since 2007 and dedicated most of my career to serving at-risk children and their families I have enlisted help from this charitable organization many times to help the families that I’ve served. They provide a wide range of resources to families in need from providing back-to-school supplies and toiletries to beds and appliances to low-income families. They equip low-income families with necessities to take care of their children and I have seen firsthand how much good they do for our community.
