My goal as a therapist is to help others feel heard, respected, and understood.

My Therapy Style

My goal as a therapist is to help others feel heard, respected, and understood. Therapy can be intimidating to those unfamiliar with it. I want to help individuals feel comfortable in sessions and allow them to be their true selves. I want our sessions to be their safe place.

I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Treatment plans will be developed based on the individual's needs and will be tailored as needed to ensure they are working toward meeting their desired goals. I will be here to help process life's challenges, as well as introduce and review coping mechanisms that can assist in the healing process.

I have been practicing therapy for the past 8 years, and have experience working with adolescents, teens, and adults. I have worked with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health professional after watching my oldest sister complete her MSW program. I used to help her study and quiz her for her exams and all of the information she was learning interested me. I would hear stories about how much she helped others, as well as the different demographics of those she helped, and I knew this was something I wanted to pursue a career in.

What are your interests outside of work?

When I am not working, you can find me spending time with my 16-month-old son. I love going on walks with him and our dog and playing outside in our backyard. I enjoy reading and watching documentaries. I also enjoy cleaning and organizing my home.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Every morning I try to make it a point to make my morning coffee and sit in silence for at least five minutes before I start my day. This helps me prepare for the day as well as focus on what needs to be done.

What book have you read more than once?

The book I have read more than once is Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan. My niece went through a similar medical condition as the main character of the book when she was 7-years-old. This was an emotionally and mentally tough read for me, but also very comforting at the same time.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Priceless Pet Rescue is a nonprofit, no-kill pet rescue that operates out of Southern California. This organization is special to me because this is where I adopted my fur bestie "Beau" when he was only 8 weeks old. I was on the fence about getting a dog, however, I applied for him via a lottery system from the rescue and was chosen as the first pick to adopt him. I fell in love with him from the moment I saw him, and he has tremendously brightened my life. I try to give monetary donations as well as needed supplies to the rescue as often as I can.

How do you recharge?

My favorite way to recharge is by taking a nap. I don't get much sleep nowadays, so when I have a chance to nap, I am taking it. I also enjoy getting facials or massages and try to do so at least once every month to two months. I notice that this helps a lot. I also enjoy going out to eat at a favorite restaurant with my husband or friends.

Do you have any pets?

As mentioned above, I have one dog named "Beau" and he is 1.5 years old. He is half Jack Russell Terrier and half Chihuahua. He is extremely attached to me, and some may say he has attachment issues and separation anxiety.

After giving birth to my son, I experienced post-partum mental health issues, and Beau made sure I felt protected and loved. He followed me everywhere and provided me with lots of love. He also sits by my side all day while I work remotely from home, and hates when we have to wake up early for work to make the long commute to the office (from the bedroom to the room next door).
