My Therapy Style

It is my privilege and my honor to walk alongside clients through the journey of healing, self-love, clarity and empowerment also known as therapy. It is my belief that everyone has the capacity to problem solve and achieve their goals. I provide guidance, coaching, compassion, and understanding in a connected and safe space. I teach clients how to regulate emotions, tolerate distress in life, build supportive relationships, create a coping skills toolkit, and practice a nourishing self-care routine. I give homework in between sessions as this gives clients the opportunity to practice and develop their coping and self-management skills even further. Clients will learn how to be mindful, how to replace negative thoughts, how to stop harmful behaviors, and how to listen to their body during therapy with me.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health professional because I believe in integrated care. Mental health offers clients a way to resolve issues by taking care of their mind.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love to go paddle boarding, spend time with my family and friends, reading and watching home improvement shows.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I journal and take time to sit quietly on a daily basis as these activities help me stay grounded and grateful.

What book have you read more than once?

I've read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey numerous times. I love the stories and how they apply to each section. This book taught me so much about personal leadership.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Turning Point Community Programs and Sutter Health: I've worked for both of these non-profits and they support my diverse community and they both operate with the individual and the system in mind with high competence.

How do you recharge?

I recharge my batteries by cleaning, organizing and decorating my home. I love putting things in order. I feel the most at peace when my 122 year old house is at its best functioning capacity and it feels beautifully serene.

Do you have any pets?

I have an all gray cat. His name is Bruce Kitty Wayne. One of the first times he went outside, he stalked a squirrel and he acted like a regal panther in the jungle!
