My Therapy Style
I am formally trained in Solution-focused therapy, but I utilize a variety of theory-based treatment options depending on the individual. I like to think of myself as someone who can provide the client with a toolbox that can be filled with a variety of different tools for varying situations. The end goal is that clients have the proper tools to use once we are no longer together in a therapeutic relationship.

Get to Know Me
Why did you become a mental health professional?
I wanted to become a social worker because my parents have a wonderful relationship and partnership and I wanted to help other individuals and couples have good communication skills.
What are your interests outside of work?
I am a reputable breeder of Bernese Mountain Dogs. I have served on the board of our regional club and am currently the puppy referral chair for the past 22 years. I educate prospective puppy owners about the breed and how to find a reputable breeder. I attend dog shows and enjoy with my family and friends.
What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?
Spending time with my dogs! I currently have 3. We enjoy walks, Dog shows, and friends and family. I also love reading historical fiction.
What book have you read more than once?
Gone With The Wind. It is an amazing look at our history during the civil war. I enjoy history. The book goes into depth about survival during the most unexpected circumstance the female character can imagine. The book and the movie are quite different. I enjoyed the book immensely.
Favorite organization/non-profit?
Bernese Mountain Dog Rescue or BARC, INC. there are so many people who fall into life's hardships and sometimes their dogs get lost lost in the process. It is of no fault of the owner, but part of being a reputable breeder is being a part of the dog community and giving back to those dog and people in need.
How do you recharge?
Spending my weekends grooming my dogs for a dog show with my friends and mentors. I also, have wonderful parents in their mid-80's who I spend time with as often as possible.
Do you have any pets?
I am an only child and my first dog Toby was a rescue mutt, she looked like Benji. She was afraid of men and I spent years as her best friend, and she mine. I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to remain in the dog community.
