Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a therapist because I have always been deeply passionate about helping others navigate the complexities of their emotional lives. From a young age, I was drawn to listening and providing support to those around me. I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of compassionate, empathetic guidance and knew I wanted to be a part of that process.

Throughout my education and training, I discovered the profound impact that therapy can have on individuals' lives. Seeing clients overcome their struggles, build resilience, and achieve personal growth is incredibly rewarding. I am continually inspired by the strength and courage of those I work with, and it is an honor to support them on their journey to healing and well-being.

Becoming a therapist allows me to combine my passion for helping others with my interest in understanding the human mind and emotions. It is a privilege to create a safe space where individuals can explore their feelings, share their vulnerabilities, and find the support they need to thrive.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of my work, I cherish spending time with my children and family. Family is incredibly important to me, and I love creating lasting memories with them. I also have a deep appreciation for nature and enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. Whether it's hiking through scenic trails or exploring new places, I find great joy in the natural world.

I have a passion for discovering new food and coffee spots. There's something exciting about finding a hidden gem or trying a new dish, and I love sharing these experiences with friends and loved ones. Additionally, I prioritize staying active and enjoy exercising regularly. It helps me stay grounded and balanced, allowing me to bring my best self to my work and personal life.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

One thing I do daily to support my mental and emotional well-being is to spend at least 20 minutes outside and practicing mindfulness. Whether it's taking a walk in a nearby park, sitting in my garden, or simply enjoying the fresh air, being in nature helps me stay grounded and centered. During this time, I focus on being present in the moment, paying attention to my surroundings, and practicing mindfulness. This routine not only refreshes my mind but also helps me maintain a sense of peace and balance, which I bring into my work and personal life.

What book have you read more than once?

A book I have read more than once is The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. I am admittedly a hopeless romantic and love a good, dramatic love story. The timeless and heartfelt tale of Noah and Allie's enduring love resonates deeply with me. The story's emotional depth, coupled with its beautiful depiction of love overcoming obstacles, makes it a book I return to whenever I want to be reminded of the power of love and the importance of cherishing the special connections in our lives.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

One of my favorite organizations is the Women's Foundation California. This nonprofit is dedicated to supporting women and children by advancing gender, racial, and economic justice. They provide grants, training, and advocacy to empower women and families, helping them overcome systemic barriers and achieve their full potential. I admire their commitment to creating lasting change and their focus on building a more equitable and inclusive society for all women and children in California.

How do you recharge?

I recharge myself by spending quality time outdoors. Taking a break to immerse myself in nature, whether it's hiking, walking, or simply sitting in a peaceful spot, helps me disconnect from the daily stresses and reconnect with myself. Additionally, I enjoy finding new food and coffee places, as exploring these new experiences brings me joy and refreshes my perspective. These activities allow me to relax, reflect, and return to my work and personal life with renewed energy and a clear mind.
