Not knowing where to begin can be quite scary and overwhelming. You may not know what’s next, but you desire a sense of calm and direction. I want to acknowledge how brave it is to take that first step in your search for a therapist. I strive to create a safe space for individuals where there is trust, acceptance, and empowerment. I believe in the power of feeling heard and seen, and I am committed to the idea that every person's strength can and will be the catalyst in finding hope and healing.
Each client will be met where they are at in session, and I will work collaboratively with you in identifying ways and coping mechanisms to move forward. My counseling approach is unique to your situation and developed from a mix of cognitive behavioral, strengths-based, and relational modalities.
I have clinical experience in working with individuals and families affected by cancer, life altering diagnosis, and loss. I also specialize in anxiety, life transitions, and relationship concerns.
MSW - Social Work, Florida State University
I was raised by parents who were both in helping professions and saw the impact that having therapeutic conversations can have on individuals. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to work in mental health. From having gone through my own counseling throughout the years, I know how important and impactful caring for your own mental health is.
I enjoy barre exercise, spending time with my husband, dog and 3 year old, and traveling.
I exercise (try to), spend time with my daughter, and have a night-time skin care routine.
Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida and Pink Aid. I have seen first hand the impact they have had on patients lives with financial support and emotional support.
I watch an episode of The Office, Friends, or Parks n Rec. (also sometimes trash reality TV). I also will take time to go get a pedicure or work out.
