My Therapy Style

I received my master’s degree in social work from the University of South Carolina. My post-graduate work focuses predominately on child welfare, specifically working with young children, young adolescents, and their families who have experienced trauma within their homes. I also have considerable experience working with numerous populations. It’s important to know that I’m passionate about helping people overcome barriers and recognizing their strengths while assisting them with life crises. The gift of effective communication and understanding is so important in helping others achieve positive outcomes.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

Initially, I was a social worker in Child Protective Services and eventually the kids would ask how come I couldn't be their therapist versus the therapist I referred them to so I became an LCSW.

What are your interests outside of work?

Learning photography, working on a clothing brand, food reviews, being in nature, and spending time with my son.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I meditate, pray, do my morning routine, night routine, and check in throughout the day.

What book have you read more than once?

You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero. It was an easy read and had a lot of gems in it.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Goodwill, as they are a one stop shop who helps people with careers, job training, counseling, etc. and you can also help through donating items.
